CLASS DESCRIPTION AND BENEFITS
Shapes classes can be done anywhere: the beach, mountains, or simply in the comfort of your home. All you need is a mat, a towel, a phone or a laptop. Props are not required, but they may intensify your practice. Preparing your workout space will only add to your practice and enhance both your experience, concentration, mindfulness and relaxation. Paola uses a clean, white space in her home where she can workout in peaceful surroundings.
Dynamic Pilates is a modernised version of Pilates that adheres to the principles developed in Germany in the early 20th century. At Shapes we believe that dynamic Pilates can be more beneficial for the body. It is more intense than a normal Pilates class. You will flow from one exercise to another with a variation of functional and traditional Pilates exercises. You will target every single muscle and still maintain precise movements and control throughout your practice. Breathing is the most essential part of the practice.
Through proper breathing techniques, you will be able to engage the lower abdominals and develop a strong, flat, defined stomach. Dynamic Pilates is the best workout to sculpt your figure and with added cardiovascular benefits too. The dynamic Pilates videos are between 17 to -25 minutes long. We recommend that you repeat each video twice for maximum results.
Cardio Pilates videos are between 13 to-20 minutes. You should repeat the videos in a consecutive manner to challenge yourself and improve your stamina. It is a mix of dynamic Pilates, fitness, and cardio exercises. At Shapes we believe this is the best for your overall fitness to shape your body. You can always skip the cardio part if you already have a routine.
Fast and intense cardio intervals will be injected during the dynamic Pilates session to increase your blood flow, boost your metabolism and improve your overall cardiovascular fitness.
Stretching videos are between 5-10 minutes long. You can add them after a dynamic or cardio Pilates workout. Stretching videos are ideal for early mornings or in the evenings before bedtime for a restorative workout. They are designed for a total body stretch. We recommend to use Pilates props to facilitate stretching in some positions.
